Methodology of Rodocò
Our approach follows the gentle rhythm of a traditional artisan workshop. We experiment with tools and materials suitable for everything from small bowls and vases to sketches and large sculptures, always seeking new ways to shape and bring clay to life.
Earth-Friendly Packaging
Our packaging is crafted primarily from recycled paper, boxes, fabrics, and ribbons. A special thanks goes to the members of Rodocò, who generously bring a variety of materials to the workshop, helping us give each piece its thoughtful finishing touch.
Modelling
Each creation is unique, entirely handcrafted using techniques that predate the invention of the potter’s wheel. The most direct method involves shaping the clay with hands or wooden tools in a continuous, playful process of adding, removing, pressing, and refining.
The “lucignolo” technique—layering thin rolls of clay, joined one by one—allows us to craft an extraordinary variety of forms, sometimes enhanced with impressions made using stamps or natural materials.

Firing
Firing techniques vary depending on the clay and glazes used, ranging from traditional kilns to experimental methods such as raku. Each firing produces textures and colours that are always distinctive, ensuring that every piece is truly one of a kind.
